A series of waterfalls near the Broadmoor luxury hotel in Colorado Springs is reopening with new features after two years.
The Gazette reports that Seven Falls will reopen Thursday after it was closed due to flood damage in 2013. The Broadmoor has spent $12 million to buy, rebuild and makeover the property.
The area around the falls now features picnic areas, a mining-themed restaurant and a zip-line course. Broadmoor president and CEO Jack Damioli says the renovations should transform the tourist attraction into a more than just a quick photo stop.
The falls, located in South Cheyenne Canyon on the Springs’ southwest side, were recently purchased from the family of Texas oilman Al Hill, who bought the property in 1946.
